Sims x Akvile Su

Quite simply as with many people over the last few months my usual avenues of self-promotion, commercial interaction and many of my standard methods of artistic expression became unavailable to me. Very abruptly so. Between the cancelled shows, closed spaces and the aborted plans I had plenty of time to think about ways to showcase my work without recourse to photographers or models.

Sudden change inspired me to get creative and move my editorials into a virtual space. After seeing other artists showcasing their art in video games like Animal Crossing and Fortnite, I decided that Sims would be an excellent familiar starting point for me. I used to play this game growing up and in the current isolation it felt like the most suitable way to experience reality and express myself. I requested my good friend Klara, who is a graphic designer, to design different cyber models in Sims and edit my pieces to be worn. This is an early stage of my project and I am looking into working with video game designers to have Akvile Su Jewellery available for Sims players to download in the future. I am very excited to develop this further and perhaps even experiment with the form of the models beyond the human shape.
